Privacy Policy

Defragmentis an ambient app for iPhone and iPad: a grid of squares that is “defragmented” forever. The disk it shows is pretend. Defragment does not collect, transmit or sell any personal data.

Nothing is collected

The app contains no analytics, no advertising, no tracking SDKs and no crash reporting of its own. There are no user accounts and nothing to sign in to. It does not build a profile of you.

Your files are not touched

Nothing real is read, written or moved. The animation is generated on the device and has no access to your photos, files or storage.

It works offline

Defragment makes no network requests of its own and never contacts our servers. It works the same in flight mode.

Settings stay on your device

Your choices — theme, speed, square size and the switches — are stored locally on your iPhone or iPad so the app remembers them. They are never sent anywhere. Haptics (on iPhone) and shake detection use the device's own hardware and nothing about them leaves the device.

Purchases

Defragment is distributed through the App Store. Downloads and any in-app purchases, including Defragment Plus and tips, are handled entirely by Apple under Apple's privacy policy. We receive no payment details or personal information from them — only the aggregate sales reports Apple gives every developer.

This website

The website at defragment.xfanta.com uses privacy-friendly, cookieless Vercel Analytics to count aggregate page views. It does not identify individual visitors. The theme you pick on the site is remembered in your browser's local storage and never leaves it.

Children

Because the app collects no data from anyone, it collects none from children either.
